Day 58 - Bruges

Saturday 23 July: Tamar and John arrived in Etten-Leur after spending a few days in Amsterdam.

After a bite to eat and coffee with Ed and Ineke Nelemans-Batist, we left with them in their hire car for 4 days stay in Bruges (Brugge).

It was nearly a two-hour drive to our accommodation a few kilometres south of the city. After settling in, we drove to the Bruges city centre for a little exploration in the fading afternoon light and have some dinner.

We settled on the ‘t Putje restaurant which served Belgian style food. The meal and beer was good, but more expensive than we were used to, just over 30 Euros each.

Although it was Saturday night, the city was pretty quiet, but it was pleasant walking through this medieval town after dinner in the evening.
